PEKKA SYVÄNEN / FOUNDER, DESIGNER, MACHINIST
M.Sc. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
HELSINKI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, 2004
Pekka Syvänen maintained Finland's most popular forestry blog — puuntuottaja.com, meaning "wood producer" — writing under the pseudonym "Paavo Woodproducer" since 2011. Through years of writing about forestry and managing his own forest property, he identified a gap in the market.
No machine existed that was small enough for private forest owners yet capable enough for real forwarding work. ATVs were explored and found lacking. The vision crystallized into developing a specialized off-road mini forwarder.
Design work commenced with an open approach, evaluating numerous technical options before settling on the final configuration. The name "Logbullet" emerged during walks with his wife, evolving from a joking suggestion of "Logmullet." Domain availability confirmed the choice, with no competing products sharing the name.
Pekka holds a Master's degree in Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Helsinki University of Technology (graduated 2004). He has work experience in the machinery industry before and after university, holds a forestry entrepreneur's qualification and natural care certification, and actively manages forest property.
Today, Porttivuori Oy builds Logbullet, Superbullet, and Megamax forwarders in Helsinki, shipping to customers across Europe.
